What is lifestyle management?

How am I going to succeed in achieving the life I want? That is an essential question you need to ask yourself if you want to develop a winning strategy.

To succeed in any area of life, you need to perform effective lifestyle management and it needs to be a plan that feels comfortable for you, that not only expands your skills and boundaries but brings you returns. All the successful sports teams and businesses the world over not only know this but put it in to action each and every day, as should you whether that be for your career, family or for yourself as an individual.

Lifestyle management means knowing how to use your skills and abilities to the greatest yield and not having plans in place can make any form of success very difficult if not impossible. Having a lifestyle management plan is not only handy its essential.
This article introduces you to a common-sense, systematic approach to strategy development.

So what is a lifestyle management?

A lifestyle management plan is a structure you can follow that will cover all the areas that you need to focus upon with a definite action plan and a trouble shooting guide in case things do not work out as planned. Which can sometimes happen.

Goal setting
Time management
Stress management
Planning and problem solving
Physical health

Creating a lifestyle management plan, you must understand fully the internal and external environmental factors that can influence, distract or support you. With that awareness, you can identify your clear advantages and potential risks and use these gain leverage. With this in place, you can make educated decisions and implement your strategy effectively.

So, strategy creation follows a three-stage process:
STAGE 1: To identify exactly what it is you want to achieve and why
STAGE 2: To plan out the structure of what steps you will take
STAGE 3: To take action on those steps and manage challenges as they arise

The 3 Stages

STAGE 1: To identify exactly what it is you want to achieve and why

The first stage, it is to fully understand exactly what it is that you are aiming for, but to get deep down into the reasons as to why you want this rather than just picking an idea.
There are a great many strategies and techniques that can be used for this stage but one of the most powerful is the If-Then technique which consists of asking a series of questions to each aim and focus until the core desire is found.

STAGE 2: To plan out the structure of what steps you will take

Once you have decided what it is that you want to achieve and why, then we move onto the planning stage. This is where we can step back and see the entire path that needs to be taken from start to finish.
During this process it is vital to be aware of stress, anxiety or self-doubt if and when they arise as they can often negatively impact the planning stage creating distractions and caution.
This is where areas such as time management, stress / anxiety management and creative thinking / problem solving will be essential to include.

STAGE 3: To take action on those steps and manage challenges as they arise

When the previous 2 stages have been put into place then taking action should be a flowing process. When people struggle with achieving their goals aims and outcomes it can often be that they have not planned effectively or accounted for anxieties as they arise.  
Taking action is working through the plan that has been created in the previous two steps. At this stage it is also to include challenges as they arise that can either be normal life challenges or our own internal mind using self doubt against us.


Success of any lifestyle management plan of action requires strategy as this will keep you focused and you can manage your pace and see where you are at each stage.
It is not enough just to be passionate as although passion will keep you going in the good times it can also amplify your anxiety and self-doubt in the challenging times.
